Health Service Executive (HSE)

About us

The HSE delivers health and personal social services to all children and families living in Ireland. Some of these services are for families of children with disabilities. The HSE either delivers services directly or other organisations deliver services for the HSE. For example, some early services are provided by various voluntary organisations and some are provided by the HSE community services.

Our Services

The HSE offers a wide range of services for children and families, including early services. You can contact your Local Health Office to find out how to access Early Services in your area. 

The HSE's website www.hse.ie/childdisability provides information about health services and supports for you and your child and links to other useful websites.

The HSE also deals with the following Entitlements and Benefits:

  • Drug Payments Scheme
  • Long-Term Illness and Disability Scheme
  • Medical Card
  • GP Visit Card
  • Free Nappies Scheme
  • Diet Supplement Scheme
  • Mobility Allowance
  • Motorised Transport Grant
