Cad iad “Seirbhísí Luath-idirghabhála”?

Is éard atá i gceist le Seirbhísí Luath-idirghabhála grúpa daoine a oibreoidh leatsa agus le do leanbh chun tacaíocht a thabhairt duit agus chun cuidiú le do leanbh a lánchumas a bhaint amach. Nuair a dhéanfar do leanbh a fháthmheas maidir le míchumas, d’fhéadfadh duine éigin tú a chur i dteagmháil leis na Seirbhísí Luath-idirghabhála nó leis an bhFoireann Luath-idirghabhála. Féadfaidh do Dhochtúir Ginearálta (DG), Altra Sláinte Poiblí, nó aonad máithreachais nó aonad péidiatraice san ospidéal tú a tharchur, nó tig leat féin dul i dteagmháil le d’Fhoireann Luath-idirghabhála áitiúil go díreach.

Bíonn gairmithe éagsúla ar gach Foireann Luath-idirghabhála agus oibríonn siad i gcomhpháirt leis an teaghlach. Ní bheidh na gairmithe uile ar gach foireann. Tá siad seo a leanas i measc na ngairmithe a oibríonn ar Fhoirne Luath-idirghabhála:

  • Síceolaithe
  • Teiripeoirí Urlabhra agus Teanga
  • Fisiteiripeoirí
  • Teiripeoirí Saothair (OTanna)
  • Péidiatraithe
  • Oibrithe Sóisialta
  • Oideachasóirí

Tig leat níos mó eolais a fháil fúthu seo, agus faoi ghairmithe eile, ach cliceáil ar ár leathanach gréasáin ar Gairmithe a d’fhéadfaí casadh ort.

Cuimhnigh nach bhfuil na speisialtóirí ná na teiripeoirí mar an chuid is tábhachtaí den luath-idirghabháil, cé gur saineolaithe iad ina réimsí féin. Sibhse, na tuismitheoirí, an chuid is tábhachtaí. Níl aithne níos fearr ag duine ar bith eile ar do leanbh féin.

Early Intervention Services are a group of people who will work with you and your child to give you support and help your child reach their full potential. When your child is diagnosed with a disability, someone may put you in contact with the Early Intervention Services or Team. Your General Practitioner (GP), a Public Health Nurse, or a maternity or paediatric unit in the hospital may refer you; or you can contact your local Early Intervention Team directly.

Each Early Intervention Team is made up of a variety of different professionals who work together with the family. Not all professionals will be present on each team. Some of the professionals who work on Early Intervention Teams include:

  • Psychologists
  • Speech and Language Therapists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Occupational Therapists (OT's)
  • Paediatricians
  • Social Workers
  • Educationalists

You can find out about these, and other professionals, by clicking on our webpage on Professionals you may meet.

Please remember that while the specialists and therapists are experts in their fields, they are not the most important part of early intervention. The most important part is you the parents. You know your own child best.
